Project Overview:

Design a brand-new logo for Cat & Hound Market, located in Morris, Illinois.

About Cat & Hound Market:

Founded as Blackbird's Bowl in 2009, Cat & Hound Market has a rich history of serving pet owners in Morris, Illinois. In 2021, new owners took the reins, injecting fresh energy and vision into the beloved pet supply store.

The Challenge:

When Cat & Hound Market approached me, they had a unique vision for their rebranding. They were passionate about a circular logo design. Additionally, they wanted to honor the Norwegian Elkhound breed, a significant symbol for the new owners. The heart of their vision was to capture a playful interaction between a cat and a Norwegian Elkhound.

The Solution:

I embarked on a creative journey to bring this vision to life. The result is the striking circular logo you see above, where silhouettes of a cat and a Norwegian Elkhound dog engage in a charming interaction. The cat playfully lifts a paw toward the dog, creating a heartwarming and memorable image.

The primary logo color, #175873, exudes a sense of trust and professionalism, while the secondary color, #C0F0F7, adds a touch of playfulness and friendliness. The store name is beautifully rendered in Alegreya, enhancing the overall aesthetic. To ensure a harmonious design, Josefin Sans and Chapbook fonts were thoughtfully incorporated into the logo.

Conclusion:

The final logo successfully encapsulates the heartwarming essence of Cat & Hound Market. It embodies the shop owners' love for animals and their commitment to providing the best for pets in Morris, Illinois. This project showcases my ability to transform a unique vision into a visually captivating and meaningful brand identity. It is a testament to my skills in logo design, visual storytelling, and understanding the core values of a brand.

Web Design & Development

Project Description:

I had the privilege of collaborating with Gibbs Financial Group on the redesign and rebranding of their online presence. The project aimed to create a modern, user-friendly, and distinct platform that aligns with their central theme of "Finding Your Road to Financial Freedom."

Key Objectives:

  1. Modernize the Online Presence: The website faced challenges with outdated design and functionality, prompting the need for a modern overhaul. The main goal was to align it with contemporary standards, ensuring a visually appealing, user-friendly interface that meets current expectations. The objective is to elevate the platform's overall appeal and performance.

  2. Enhance User Experience: Creating a user-centric website that is easy to navigate, informative, and engaging for both existing and potential clients.

  3. Reflect the Brand: Ensure the website effectively communicates the brand values and expertise of Gibbs Financial Group.

  4. Mobile Responsiveness: Make the site fully responsive to accommodate users across all devices and screen sizes.

Project Highlights:

  1. Fresh, Modern Design: The website's design is inspired by the concept of finding one's road to financial freedom. The homepage features a captivating video of a road winding through a serene forest, symbolizing the journey towards financial well-being. The site features a clean and sophisticated design, providing a cohesive and professional brand identity.

  2. Streamlined Navigation: The site's navigation was restructured to make it easy for educators and other visitors to find relevant information about the firm's services, expertise, and resources.

  3. Comprehensive Services Section: We developed a detailed services section that offers in-depth information about the wide array of financial services offered by Gibbs Financial Group.

  4. Dedicated Landing Page for Educators: Recognizing educators as the firm's primary target market, we designed a dedicated landing page with tailored content to address their specific financial needs and concerns.

  5. Mobile-Friendly Design: Ensured the website's full responsiveness, delivering an optimal experience for visitors on smartphones and tablets.

  6. SEO Optimization: Implemented on-page SEO best practices to improve the website's visibility on search engines.

 

Technologies Used:

  • Content Management System (CMS): I chose Wix to provide a user-friendly platform for the client to manage and update their content.

  • Responsive Design: HTML5 and CSS3 for responsive web design.

  • SEO Optimization: On-page SEO techniques to enhance search engine rankings.

  • Nature-Themed Graphics: Custom imagery and video content that resonates with the theme of finding your road to financial freedom.

 

Outcome:

The Gibbs Financial Group website now stands as a visual representation of their commitment to helping individuals find their road to financial freedom. It successfully communicates their brand values, provides valuable resources to their clients, and offers an engaging experience across all devices. I'm proud to have been a part of this project and to have helped Gibbs Financial Group establish a strong online presence.

Branding and Identity

CMG Group is dedicated to helping businesses determine their eligibility for the Employee Retention Credit (ERC). To effectively convey their mission and services, a holistic approach was adopted. This involved not only designing a new logo but also creating a complete set of marketing collateral, a new website, email domains, and integrating a virtual phone system using Grasshopper.

 

Services Provided:

  • Logo Design: The project commenced with the creation of a distinctive logo that reflects the company's commitment to professional services.

  • Marketing Collateral: To maintain brand consistency, I designed marketing collateral, including business brochures, HTML email signatures, and email campaigns.

  • Website Redesign: A modern, user-friendly website was developed by me from the ground up. It features a responsive design, streamlined navigation, and comprehensive information about CMG Group's services.

  • New Email Domains: As part of the branding update, new email domains were established to enhance the professional image and security of communication.

  • Virtual Phone System Integration: Leveraging the Grasshopper application, a virtual phone system was seamlessly integrated into the company's operations, allowing for efficient communication and call management.

 

Results and Impact:

Elevated Brand Identity: The new logo and marketing collateral have positioned CMG Group as a professional and trustworthy partner in the field of Employee Retention Credit services.

Enhanced Digital Presence: The new website offers an engaging and informative platform for clients, with successful user experience and accessibility.

Improved Communication: The integration of the virtual phone system has streamlined client communication, enabling efficient call management and responsiveness.

Operational Efficiency: The incorporation of new email domains has not only enhanced security but also contributed to a more professional and organized communication structure.

Project Description:

This project involved creating a robust online presence for Mosaic Wealth Partners by developing and managing their social media content for Facebook and LinkedIn. To augment referral generation, the focus was centered on diversifying content to showcase Mosaic Wealth Partners' expertise and credibility through contributions to various media publications. Additionally, I developed original ad graphics to promote the various services offered by the firm. This strategic approach aimed to bolster Mosaic Wealth Partners' online presence and solidify its standing within the competitive financial services industry.

Services Provided:

  • Social Media Content Planning: I planned a content calendar, ensuring a steady stream of engaging and relevant posts. This included identifying key themes, topics, and events to feature.

  • Content Design: From concept to completion, I crafted eye-catching visuals and graphics to complement the messaging. Each post was designed to resonate with Mosaic Wealth Partners' target audience.

  • Post Scheduling: Posts were scheduled strategically to optimize reach and engagement, ensuring that they reached the right audience at the right time.

  • Community Engagement: I actively monitored and responded to comments, messages, and engagements on Mosaic Wealth Partners' social media profiles, fostering meaningful interactions with the audience.

 

Results and Impact:

  • Reach and Impressions: Over the course of the project, there was a 77% increase in page and post impressions across Facebook and LinkedIn. This figure highlights the effectiveness of the content strategy and the ability to connect with the target audience effectively.

  • Substantial Growth in Followers: During this project, we achieved a 73% increase in followers on Mosaic Wealth Partners' social media profiles. This surge in followers not only expanded the firm's online community but also enhanced its reach and visibility.

  • Enhanced Brand Awareness: The increased engagement, post impressions, and growing follower base contributed significantly to raising brand awareness. 

  • Content Relevance: The project's success can be attributed to the creation of relevant and impactful content that resonated with Mosaic Wealth Partners' target market, addressing their needs and interests thoughtfully.

Displayed below are examples of social media posts aimed at enhancing credibility and trust. These posts highlight the firm's insightful commentary as featured in various media publications. Throughout this project, a primary emphasis was placed on these types of posts and media successes. As a financial advisor, credibility stands as a fundamental pillar of success. While possessing expertise and qualifications in the financial planning industry is essential, actively showcasing the firm's knowledge through podcast appearances or being quoted in news articles goes above and beyond, instilling confidence and nurturing a sense of trust in their capabilities and professionalism.

Conclusion:

In examining key performance indicators such as engagement rates, open rates, and click-through rates, it becomes evident that this collaborative effort had a positive and measurable impact on Mosaic Wealth Partners' digital strategy.

 

Positioning the firm as a thought leader in the financial space, achieved through being quoted in various publications, coupled with the strategic use of advertising graphics to promote the firm's services, significantly contributed to expanding their digital footprint.

Content Marketing

Financial Services Client

Project Overview:

In the financial services industry, effective content marketing is vital for building trust, providing valuable insights, and nurturing client relationships. This project involved collaborating with a financial services firm, which, for the nature of outsourcing their content marketing and copywriting, maintains confidentiality regarding their name.

The Challenge:

This client recognized the significance of producing high-quality, informative content but found it more efficient to outsource their copywriting, particularly for email campaigns and monthly newsletters. They sought to engage a professional who could seamlessly blend into their workflow and provide a reliable, anonymized content creation service.

The Solution:

I collaborated with this client, employing a range of content marketing collateral to fulfill their objectives. These materials were designed to deliver valuable information to their clients and build stronger relationships.

The scope of work included:

  1. Email Campaigns: I crafted well-written and informative emails, tailored to suit the needs of their clients. These emails were executed using Constant Contact to ensure professional delivery and performance. Within 3 months, email open rates increased by 40%.

  2. Monthly PDF Newsletters: I designed and created monthly newsletters in PDF format that encapsulated essential financial insights, industry updates, and expert commentary.
     

Expanding the strategy beyond traditional content marketing, I introduced an initiative to address a unique need: the creation of podcast scripts. Engaging in a collaborative conversation with the client, I recommended leveraging ChatGPT to streamline the content creation process, particularly for podcast episodes that required the firm's distinctive voice and alignment with specific call-to-action initiatives. By generating ideas and crafting scripts, I played a pivotal role in helping the firm save valuable time while diversifying their content offerings.

This multifaceted approach not only met the client's need for efficient, outsourced content creation but also contributed to their overarching content diversification goals. The project showcases the adaptability and strategic thinking applied to elevate the firm's content marketing initiatives.
